Introduction

 

This section explains how to work with Positions in Swordfish. Learn how to exercise the option and change how positions are displayed.

 

Exercise the Option

Method

 

You can exercise the full option quantity or only a partial quantity.

 

Open the Positions window by clicking on View > Positions from the menu bar at the top of Swordfish.
Find and click on the appropriate option in the list of positions.
Click on Exercise Opt menu item to exercise the option.

 

 

The Exercise Option window displays for you to confirm or reduce the Qty field. Change the Ref Code value if required.
Click on OK to confirm the action.

 

 

Consolidate multiple positions

Method

 

Positions can be grouped in two ways.
The first option can be viewed by clicking on View > Positions > Consolidate Prin, from the menu bar at the top of Swordfish.
Positions will be grouped by exchange, principal and instrument.

 

 

See the changed view as shown in the image below.

 

 

 

The second option can be viewed by clicking on View > Positions > Consolidate Instr , from the menu bar at the top of Swordfish.
Positions will be grouped by exchange and instrument.

Note

 

1.Depending on the option you chose, to see the original view, click on the Consolidate Prin or Consolidate Instr button again.

 

 

Hide Positions

This functionality enables the hiding of rows that have a zero value for all these column per row: Open, Bought, Sold and Current.

 

Method

 

Open the position window by clicking on View > Positions, from the menu bar at the top of Swordfish.

 

 

Click on the Hide button.
See the changed view as shown in the image below.

 

 

 

Note

1.If all four columns (Open, Bought, Sold and Current) do not have a value of zero, the row will not be hidden.

2.To see the original view, click on the Hide button again.
