10. Using Excel > Receiving Price Information

Introduction

The first sheet in the sfExcel workbook is called Prices. This sheet can be used to receive live price information from Swordfish.

Method

•The fields that need to be filled in order to receive prices, are indicated by a yellow background.

•Enter the short code of the exchange into the Exchange column of the spreadsheet. Below is a table of the Swordfish recognized Exchange short codes.

SAFEX Equity Derivatives	SXFIN
SAFEX Agricultural Products	SXAGR
Yield-X	JSYLD
JSE Equities	JSEQU

•Enter the Instrument code in the format required by the relevant exchange, e.g. FMD20 ALSI (this equates to JUN13 ALSI, but the underlying name must be used throughout sfExcel).

•Once the fields with a yellow background have been filled out, click Enter.

•The remaining white fields of the Instrument will be updated.
