Instrument Search

Method

•Click on the Instrument Search Box.

•Type in desired instrument, e.g Anglo. Related instruments will appear in the 'Search Result for Instruments' window. See example below.

•Click on the desired instrument. The instrument will appear in the Search Instrument field, thus Chart,Depth, Place Order and the Watchlist icon, will be activated in color.

•To open the chart of the desired instrument, click on the Chart icon right of the Instrument Search field. If chart has already previously been opened, click Open to open chart, if not type in chart name and press 'Ok'.

•To see the depth of desired instrument, click on the Depth icon right of the Instrument Search field.

•To place an order, click on the money icons right of the Instrument Search field. The green icon activates a buy order and the red icon activates a sell order.

•To open a new watchlist, click on the Watchlist icon right of the Instrument Search field.

•To add an alert, click on the bell icon right of the Instrument Search field.

•To insert a Report Only Deal, click on the handshake icon right of the Instrument Search field.

Dragging onto a chart

A quick method of displaying a chart for an instrument is to drag from the Instrument Search field and drop onto an open chart.

Method

•Find the required instrument.

•Ensure that the chart you would like to update is visible.

•Click and drag from the Instrument Search field onto the open chart. Release the mouse button and see the chart updated with your selected instrument.

•The same method could be used to drag from an entry from the Search results for Instruments window.

Dragging onto a watchlist or depth window

A quick method of adding an instrument to a watchlist or a depth window is to drag from the Instruments Search field and to drop the instrument onto the watchlist or depth window.

Method

•Find the required instrument.

•Ensure that the watchlist or depth window you would like to update is visible.

•Click and drag from the Instrument Search field onto the watchlist or the depth window. Release the mouse button and see the watchlist/depth window updated with your  desired instrument.

•The same method could be used to drag a row entry from the Search results for Instruments window and drop the instrument on a watchlist/depth window.
